I got a buddy who is looking for a b17 dizzy though, hook up the contact number so I can get ahold of them.

yes the tranny's are good but why in the world would you buy a b16 longblock instead of using the b17 when a b17 is basically a b16 stroker. the head is exactly the same as a b16. and the blocks are great too.

ok...so its basically a stroked b16...i was told the difference was on the crank and rods...but another question is will the head take ITR exhaust cam and CTR intake cam? or is it even worth changin them on a b17?

The block is also slightly taller. I found this out by trying to fit a b16 timing belt to my B17. The belt was short, even when fully adjusting the tensioner.

WHY?
Why would he swap out a B17 for a B16?
Doesn't make any sense.
He doesn't seem too bright.
How many miles on the B17?
Get everything you can, that he'll thrown in. ECU, axels, etc. It'll make the swap MUCH easier.

I wouldn't, unless it was in great condition.

I'm not sure but I don't think he can USE the P61 ECU. I don't think it's compatible with a XSi JDM B16 engine.
And yes it is OBD1
Why would he sell a perfectly good B17 and YS1? For 1/2 of what they're worth?
Sounds fishy to me

It might take some doing, finding another one. They are on the scarce side.
Seeing as the ONLY cars ever equipped with them were the '92-'93 US GS-R's
I read as few as 700 were made, to at most 7000.
You really don't come across them all that often.
You'll have better luck finding a JDM B16. And they'd be cheaper, with less miles.

dude dont but it and let me know the guys number
i have a b17 gsr tranny in my car right now
and oh man do i love it
gearing is sooo short

i would jump on that thing like a flea on a dog
they are super hard to come across and they are
really reliable like everyone said the head is the
same as the itr/b16 head and the block is pretty
much similar to a b16.
i would get it with the quickness
