Timming=Horsepower
I have heard that if you advance/retard your timing a couple of degrees you can get anther 5-6 hp. But once you have done it you need to run supreme. Has anyone else heard about this?
That is BS. Adjustable timing gear is a tuning tool not a power adder. To gain power on advance and retard will be a lot of factor like lift of cams taht you are using , powerband, yadidadida etc....
As I understand it, on a GSR you can advance your timing no more than 2 degrees to take advantage of the fact that those engines run rich at WOT (as do most cars). A few hp can be found, but I think 5-6 is a bit optimistic.

he's not talking about cam gears, foo.
he's talking about goofing w/ the timing. it's totally safe to push it to 18 degrees (factory spec is 16 +/- 2), and you'll gain some top end, but lose some low end. and running premium is a must after that.
