Spring Question???
I bought a set of JDM Type-R TEIN HA's and the springs that it came with do not say TEIN, the only thing marked is B100 - 976 on the rears and B120 - 976 on the fronts. Just figured I would see if anyone may know the significance of these numbers and a possible corelation to spring rates.
TIA. Mike.
TIA. Mike.
I would guess B100 is a 10kg/mm spring and B120 is a 12kg/mm spring.
I can't tell what the 976 number would stand for. It doesn't seem to fit any mm or cm conversion.

I am just getting into this whole suspension tuning thing could you please explain to me where 10 and 12kg/mm lies between stock springs and full race springs.
Thanks again, Mike.

10kg/mm = 560lb/in
Stock springs are under or around 200lb/in I believe.
"Full race" springs is relative. Springs are springs and people use anything from stock springs up to 1200lb/in and higher for racing so really all springs can be/are race springs.

believe it or not, google does unit conversions...
for example, type in:
"10 kg/mm to pounds/inch"
and you get about 600 lb/in.... That's definitely on the upper limit of what is streetable. Of course, everyone is different, so YMMV.
Edit: lol, it is 560... Good timing.
