Default Any of you guys used the Honda F4i ITB's on the ZC?...

This is my new summer project for this summer. I have a set of good condition Honda F4i 600 street big ITB's that will work perfectly with the intake manifold of the ZC.

Also because it utilizes all the factory sensors/vaccum ports it should be very streetable (yes I did say streetable).

Project is going to look like...

- Stock ZC
- Reground cams
- Mild port work to the head
- PM7 corrected with an AFC.
- inexpensive header that works
- 2.5" custom exhaust

all going into my 89 Civic hatch. Should be a fun little project, and inexpensive as weil...

Anyone else use these perticular ITB's before?

Sounds interesting. What is the current cc of the 600 injectors, and will the larger ones that will be needed fit in the same footprint, or will custom machining be needed?

ceas..

I'm not sure exactly. However, I'm not going to use them...

Where I need to cut the manifold is past where the stock injectors/fuel rail are mounted...so I am going to be able to use the stock ZC fuel injection setup.

Although not talking from experience, i believe the ZC injectors will fit the ITB location. Keeping them further from the head makes for better atomization of the mixture. also i would look into a PGMFI'ed ECU, as it will give you better control over the maps.
This is purely speculation at this moment, but i will be partaking on the similar project and will confirm my suspicions first hand.

hehe...yeah. I know him quite well. We were both going to do a built ZC setup, but both ended up ditching the projects for built B series power...eheheh

I'm pretty sure hes using the 929 setup. Those are better for the B series motors because of the larger diameter bodies.

and about the injectors...I think I'm just gonna keep them in the stock location to keep it simple (KISS)...and have the injector holes in the ITB's just welded up when I have it welded to the manifold.

I am also really thinking about the Ghettodyn setup, but I'm not very good with doing my own ECU molestation.

DOHC ZC.

But...I'm still not set on exactly what engine setup I'm going to do.

I'm also thinking about sizing these up to an A6 manifold, and just swaping them onto D15...well see.

Where did you get those air horns?

Im not familiar with the F4i ITB's..could you give a little more info about them? How close is the throttle position sensor and everything to the stock sensors? Whats involved in using them..

I want to go carbd on this non-vtec d16 im building..but if i could go ITB's for the same price..id do it.

The Zdyne gold will work perfectly. I used one with my old ZC turbo setup, and it was hella easy to use. I wish I could use one, but I don't think my funds will allow me too....sooo I'm gonna just use either the PG7, or PM7 ecu with an AFC.

Are the air horns from the F4i? if not which model one? are they a bolt on affair (I would assume so... )

I have a 2001 CBR f4i the horns are inside the airbox....basically when u take off the top part of the air box , you unbolt the 8 bolts(2 per horn) and the horns and the air box comes off of the throttle bodies. then just bolt the horns back on to the tb's. ...will this setup be reasonable with a pm7 and and afc.....im pretty sure a hondata setup would be ideal but right about now its a homemade experiment that so far is going well..

sweet...I am definetly going to try and pick up a set of those air horns...if they bolt on...Definetly the best way to go.

I'm sure the AFC will work fine. It should only need a little more fuel in the upper RPM range. I'm thinking I will raise the base pressure up about 5psi, correct it at lower RPM with the AFC, and see how it does in upper RPMs.

The sensors do look plug/play. and about the map...I'm just going to use the stock sensor on the firewall.

For larger vaccum sources such as the brake booster line, I will just tap the manifold before the ITB's with a brass fitting. Those CBR injectors have to be insanely small....which is another reason why I'm going to be using the stock fuel system. I've been told however, that the regular honda injectors can fit...just a little FYI.

God damn...I am soooo excited to start working on this project!...hehee...but I still have my B18C GT35E setup to finish.
