-i search but couldnt find any positive answer-
im thinkin about buyin this 2001 usdm itr tranny from this guy local. im gonna go look at it sometime soon and was wondering what i should look for to tell it is really an itr tranny. i know if i can see through then it has lsd, but whats the tranny code and how can i tell what year it is? also are there any other things that would help identify it? TIA

 

on the top of the tranny it will be stammped "J4D" "LSD"

 

It'll have a VIN code on it. If it doesnt then you have a possible theft USDM tranny, report him if that occurs

If it does have the VIN on it, like it should, just run that in carfax for the info.

 

The first 8 digits of the VIN will be JH4DC231, and, as mentioned above, it should be stamped J4D LSD.

 

Remember that many trannies out there have had the code washed off since it comes off easily.

I think they are S80, not 100% sure though. It will say so on the barcode.
