Default "vero" says his buddy has a 350whp N/A built C5 - post proof here!

saw this guy post this in the eg+/del sol forum & I am calling him out here's what he said
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Vero &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">but why a 4 door?

I should be asking my buddy with a c5 that pulls 350 n/a wheel horse this same question.</TD></TR></TABLE>

and then

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Vero &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

if I can I will. Its a $20,000 C5. He spent way too much money on. Bored out, huge stroker, hondata etc etc etc. The block spent about 6 months out in cali being carefully set up. The car redlines around 11,000.

Ugh, its a beauty.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I would like you to post the complete set up of the motor - where/who in cali tuned it (if its even close to 350 whp it must be tuned/dyno'd somewhere)

I have a very bad feeling that your "friend" is blowing a lot of smoke up your *** & you're believing every minute of it

EDIT - for those who say "who cares" I have never heard of a B series laying down that much power & would like to know how he did it & see some proof, whats wrong with that

I liked the part where no body else cares, so why should you? stop breathing your own exhaust and just say what ever.

Wether I believe what him and his mechanic told me doesnt matter because its a show car. Which is a shame because the car is so clean.

why did I bump this?

LoL I call SO much BS here! Why did you bump this? Its obvious it's a lie, as far as I know some of the fastest n/a motors in the world (as in full race, not show) put out around 280-300. Sucks bro, your friend and his mechanic played you.

if 4age 1.6 liter engines are known to pull 240 HP

i see no reason why a fully stroked out B series cant atleast his 300's

but i would say it would have to have crazy parts made out of titanium n ****, also a cam thats 300 degrees ++++, something like this would not idle at all in my opinion and would have to be a pure race car

maybe it does make 350 hp... but only from 10500 rpm to 11000 rpm... :D

better ask him what his q/m times are and what he pulls on the skid pads. facts like that give a person like me a bigger impression than pure HP figures.

Look who's talking... He's reffering to the Corvette C5 engines, which was brought up a few posts above. And just an FYI, I would try not to speak to mods with that tone of voice .

I think this dude's just trying to blow some smoke up our alleys, but its not gonna work, pal. And the part about it being a show car = even more bullshit. This is funny...

sorry, this thread should get locked.

anyone with common sense knows that a honda motor is really really hard to hit 350whp

it can be done, but it certainly isnt easy.

this thread is gona go no where

350 hp @11,000 rpm = 167 lb-feet of torque at 11,000 rpm.
By comparison the TSX makes 166 @ 4500 rpm, so in theory you could do it if you could get a 2.4 litre b-series to spin to 11,000 rpm.
It would probably get walked by a 8,500 rpm 200 hp 2.0 litre cause the powerband would be so skinny.

If you guys read the original post where Vero was quoted he says this:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">if I can I will. Its a $20,000 C5. He spent way too much money on. Ugh, its a beauty.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I underlined the part about the Hondata, so I dont think it's a Vette they are talking about. Unless the original poster mistyped Veros quote.

isn't there more stress on the sleeves of a 200 hp b16 at 10,000 rpm than there is on a turboed 300 hp GsR at 8,500 rpm?
This thing would need to be deckplated like crazy ( I don't think I've ever even seen a 2.4 litre b-series) to add the extra stroke needed and keep the rod long enough to reach such a sensible rpm.
He'd have all sorts of cooling problems. Not possible!

We OBVIOUSLY know that he isn't reffering to a C5 Vette, but with the numbers that he is claiming to achieve via N/A, the only C5 capable of that is a C5 Vette. Get it? It was just a joke.
