King RAT Brake Ducts
It appears great minds think alike as I have also developed a brake duct for GSR/typer/civic.
Track testing at VIR. Ours differs to most as it mounts to the top brake caliper bolt and feeds air towards the center of the rotor. It also mounts to the front so you dont have to feed hose around the back of the upright.
Not pretty, not carbon fiber but functional. Im thinking $90 a pair, you supply the 3 inch hose, or I can price with the hose.
Please email alex@kingratmotorsports.com if you want more info or a picture.

Can anyone post pictures? I need to put them on my website but I havent had chance.
Test fitted to 94 GSR right now. but Im going to test on as many cars as possible at VIR.

Looks pretty good...same thing that I was thinking of doing. I was crawling under the car the other day when I was changing the oil, trying to figure out how to mount the hose...

I'm curious to see what you think of using the 3" hose. Is there simply a lot more room in the DC2 vs. EF? I'm currently running 3" hose but I'll be replacing it with 2.5" before the next event. There simply isn't room for that size hose unless I squash it.
yes its only the one bolt. I was thinking of an additional mount bolt over where the brake line is attached to give it better rigidty. A single mount point allows some adjustment though but Im thinking it my twist under load... testing will tell us whether its going to work.
3 inch hose seems to work ok - it is very tight though.

I'd be concerned about that bolt backing out. Happened to whittaker last year.... </TD></TR></TABLE>
Just use some safety wire....

Alex, first of all I'm interested.
Second of all, how have you solved the problem of getting the ducts away from other stuff? Particularly on the driver side of the car. There's crank pulleys and motor mounts and tires and all sorts of crap down there...that's what has historically given me the most grief.
IM or call me if you'd rather I not hijack your thread

Here is what I used to do....

The only "flaw" was it was kinda far from the rotor (only close when driving straight) and it pointed to the caliper, not center of Rotor. I post this because maybe it will help to offer some ideas. I ran Hawk Blues and never had issues, I assume this was working. I say assume because the only pads I had before the ducts were stock. and those cooked quick.

thanks for all the input. Some food for thought
I could make 2.5ID but first batch will be 3 inch.
It is steel pipe on the prototype, not actually too difficult to make. Might switch to Aluminum or stainless for final product.
I am concerned about bolts backing out also - I might move to a different mount location (possible where the brake line mounts, Track testing will show up the deficiences.
I definitely recommend the use of Safety wire on everything.
The path of the hose is important. I have always got some rubbing from the wheels on full lock. The photos above show as good a path as any.
High temp hose is a must! the neoprene stuff is $5 a foot retail and can stand upto 250F the silicone stuff is $15 a foot and goes upto 550F. I estimate about 8 feet to do a GSR.
