I found 3 ITR heads of interest right now, one is being sold by reputable seller Brian Wong, the other two are currently in ebay auctions.

Here's the first ebay head, I offered $1000 shipped to Canada (he's thinking about it). Head appears to be very clean, only a claimed 10k miles on head. it's a 98' jdm itr head....



Second ebay head is a 2000 USDM itr head, no valve cover. he will take $850 USD shipped up here to Canada but do the exhaust ports look really bad to you guys. apparently the motor was running good when head removed, but running rich



Last head is from H-T, brian wong's head. also a 98' jdm head. asking price is $1025 shipped up here (includes a vtec and oil pressure switch not on first head). has 30k miles:



Which head looks the best to you guys based on how the head looks and the price???

 

I forgot to mention this head would be going on an ls bottom end. Would there be any performance difference between a 98 jdm and 2000 usdm ITR head?

 

Get the 2000 itr head; its 850, you get the 2000 itr cams (ctr).

The exhaust ports look fine, spray some "carb cleaner" in the port and they'll come out fresh and clean.. its only carbon build up.

 

i was thinking that might be my best deal. there are still valve covers in Ottawa for like $115+ shipping.

 

I think Id be more interested in the valve seats and making sure none of them are damaged. The cams, gears, ports can all be cleaned up or replaced.

 

I'd go with the second head.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a dead rat from Brian Wong after being ripped off by him in the past.

go with brian wong you may pay alittle more but like you said he is reputable and you will know what you are gettting.....

I too support Brian, have bought many things off him in the past worth many thousands of dollars, and ALL parts have been just as described during purchase.

 

I'll go with someone I know and trust. ya cant go WRONG wit DA WONG. I havent and i'll continue to do business with him cause I KNOW what I'm getting and who I'm getting it from.

I guarantee that if you bought a dead rat off of Brian, that he would send you a dead rat.

IMO opinion, Brian has the best reputation of any seller on this board and many others.

 

I don't plan on making some all motor monster, so for approx. $1200 CDN i can get a head with a mild port and polish, good cams, valves, etc.... I think I'll probably get the 2nd one because of the more aggresive cams and with a valve cover i'm looking at $950 shipped for a complete head. IS that not a decent deal. another thing to consider is that i live in Canada so to find this stuff up here is near impossible.

yeah Brian's straight up guy. I've met him in person and seen his "stash" with my own eyes. Good parts and good prices.

only way for me to get usdm itr heads is thru trades. and most of the time mileage is pretty high or abused. my jdm motors the mileage is lower. and it was test run before it was sent to me. a usdm itr motor's condition is always unknown unless it's someone i personally know. so i stand by my products 100%.
