ok, the plans for the allmotor.net project car are coming to a close, and basically its coming down to the smogability (BAR sticker) for either of these two engines (Type S, or Type R), just wanted to know if the Type R is really worth the extra 2 grand and smog hassle?

when think about it when you start wanting to go faster your first choices are going to be type R parts i.e lsd tranny, i/m, cams, pistons ect. imo youd be saving money buying the type R motor in the long run.

Unless you get the a2 for 3500 and the 20A for like 5000 or something.. would you really spend 1500+ on just type-r parts and not aftermarket?
