Default DC JDM header and Carsound cat help!!!

hey guys w/ DC JDM header and Carsound cat (from IPS racing), did this set up push back your exhaust a little? the tech who install say it push back like 3/8" and now it is really close to my rear bumper, causing it to vibrate sometimes... I have an APEXi N1 full-cat back... did anyone have the same problem, or is the installer an idiot who can't install?

It's probably the heat shield at the bottom of the car. I would say look at the section where the B-pipe makes a turn right before the axel. You might have to cut some of it off.

thanks for your help guys... but yea, i love the setup, i havent raced it yet, so i dont know any numbers... but it feels like it has more power...

The heat shield was in the way, but i bent it out the best i could... haha, the first time, i bent it too close to the shift linkage and it made a "clink" sound everytime i hit 5th and rev... sounded like Fast and Furious cars!! but yea... all u guys w/ this set up, be careful of the heat shield hitting your O2 sensor... really bad rattling noise when you start off...

The cat is made to the exact length so it shouldnt be pushing it back. I do know that just about everyone on here with an Apexi N1 said that fitment wasnt great and it rattles alot.

hello mike!! you're the one who sold me the cat... and i talked to you on the phone, hehe... other than the rattling, the setup is great. i think i will cut off a section of the rear bumper for better fitment...

Mine rattles against one of the heat shields at various off-idle RPM's. But that's about it. Nothing a quick bend of the sheet metal heat shield couldn't fix -- I'm just too lazy to go jack up the car, crawl under there, and bend the shield. But I'm very satisfied with the performance gain. Overall the car feels like it lost about 100lbs. But that was all butt-dyno. The proof was in a race I had last night with an N/A '94 Supra (intake/exhaust). We did a 2nd through 4th gear run and I was able to EASILY walk away from him. When I raced him twice before my header/cat, I was able to only baaaaarely walk away from him, and I mean real slow like. But last night it was almost as if he had 2 or 3 big guys sitting in his car now, it was that bad. Yes, the header/cat really makes a big diff, even though the car only feels a little more peppy.
