i have 2.5 custom system on my tired, smoking A6, while i did not loose any low end, along with a header and a intake it did help the high end power. it is just incredibly loud at all engine speeds. having a straight-through muffler accentuates that. a 2.25 system with a resonator, a catalytic converter ( i do not care what people say, a street car should have one, both for emission and dB control) and a good non-chambered muffler will do fine.

I have a Greddy EVO, which is ~2.35. No issues with only intake.

2" will get the job done wit simple i/h/e, but 2.25" would be better.

I did... he never said that the motor was built... 2" is more than enough to handle a y8 w/bolt-ons.
