Default does GS-R stand for anything?

i overheard that gs-r stands for grand sport racing is that true. i thought honda never made there models stand for anything.

LS-luxury sport
RS-rally sport
GS-grand sport
GS-R-grand sport race
Type R- type race
like i said, thats just what i heard dont take it as fact, but maybe i heard right.

normally that one stands for rally-sport... but it seems ill suited for an integra or a camaro

ummm, i was pretty sure the S in all of them stands for Series not sport.......but either way GSR just means God Speed Racing. lol.

I read that Type R is\was actually Type Reduced-weight, which originally started with the NSX. There was a similar thread a few months ago.
