Default Purchasing BRAND NEW bike. need some tips.

I have owned about 5 different bikes in my life, i have never owned a brand spanking new one. What im curious about is when i go in to buy the one i want, are they negotiable on the price on the new ones just like a car dealership is??

IM basically getting the new 2003 SE red hayabusa. I already put a deposit down on it, but we didnt talk price at all... They are asking 10,999 for the bike... How much rroom do i have to play with in there???

Id like to get it for 10.9 out the door...

What do you guys think??

oh, and side note. WHy pic the busa? Well, few reasons.
1) it has always been my dream bike since i first saw it released.
2) wife feels uncompfy sittin way high on the back of the gsxr1000.
3) i like big fat bikes... This is a big fat bike.. BUTTT, ive riden alot of bikes and this thing is just as flickable as my buddies r6. It feels SO light when your moving.. If youve riden one youll know what i mean.
4) i like bikes that go fast with little amoount of work or beating on the bike.
Thats all.

ALSO, my bike is for sale.

I've dealt salesmen that were negotioble on price. Only way to find out is to ask them. Tell them what you want the bike for and see what you get. Are you willing to back out of the purchase if they don't go for it? Should've probably negotiated before leaving a deposit. I've got a friend who has a busa, I love the way it feels. Nice superchicken, the same buddy who has that busa, also has a superchicken as his second bike . . .

bike dealerships are not as negotiable as car dealers.

The markup on new bikes is slim and demand is high, especially that bike. If you want to negotiate price go after an 03 model that they are trying to get rid of, and technically it's still brand new.

Cheers,
Sean

ya, thats what im thinking also. They dont have any o3. Just some o4's.

They have a purple/black and a silver/blue.

I really like the silver/blue and i like the red... I dont know if i want to pay 500 more bucks JUST for red, and wait another month and a half, ANDDD have to pay a bit more because they arent as negotiable on the price....

hmmmmmm... The o4 special editon and the o4 non special edition are IDENTICAL except for color right???

any chance you're a much bigger guy than whoever the r6 was setup for? The busa geometry isn't as dependant on rider variables as your example of an r6.

No, not much bigger.. maybe 10lbs and 2-3inches or so.... The bike was awesome feeling.. I didnt expect the busa to be anywhere near that.. Now i realize why the bike is so low.. It lets you get kneedraggin low very easy due to its lower center of gravity..

Im sure theres alot more to it, but i dont care.. Its always been my dream bike since it first came out.. Now i can get one...

I'm liking the Busas more and more, I need to focus on learning to ride the 600 I won't even have until tomorrow for now though .

IMHO. When it comes down to it being able to ride a busa is just the same as being able to ride gsxr600. from the stand point of the ammount of respect you give the bike. those of you out there that have made the jump from a medium sized bike (600cc) to a large bike (1000cc+) can back me up on this one.

what im trying to say is that you wouldnt go out on a busa or a gsxr 1000 flick the throttle the same as you would with a 600... every mistake you make is just more evident with the larger bikes. if you respect and treat the bike the way that it NEEDS to be treated you will be fine riding the busa.
