All you did was put in pistons and your vtec raised? You sure you didnt get a chipped ecu? Because you cant just put in pistons and not change anything else and have your vtec kick higher.

my techmeter is working fine, last time i checked on stock motor it kicked in at 45k rpm.. well i left of some info..the guy i bought the block from said the block had been blue printed and balanced.. but the head is completely stock.. so what you think it is? can i use vafc to change it to kick in at 45k rpm? cause 6k rpm is to long to wait...

Cams dont effect where your vtec will kick. The only thing that can change when your vtec will kick is you ecu.

Yea well are you sure you had your butterflies hooked up before? Beauce maybe there hooked up now since you can here them at 6k. Where before they werent hooked up and you could only hear vtec kick at 4500. Try listening at 4500 and see if you can hear vtec kick still.

If it was oil pressure problem - check oil for one, check plugs on vtec solenoid - vacuum lines on IM - low oil will fuckaruond with vtec - mostly not making it activate properly.

oil is good no leaks, every thing is stock besides the block and injectors. you think it could be the injectors? some one mention that to me. i am currently running rc 440cc, i know over kill, but it was from when i had turbo. trying to find rc 310 or 270cc for good price to replace them. thanks for your guys input..

vtec runs off of rpm, speed, oil pressure, and temperature. Injectors would have nothing to do with when the crossover occurs.

Are you sure its not your secondaries opening up. They are much more audible at 5700 than the vtec crossover.

A butterfly or "secondary" is located in the middle of the gsr intake manifold. They are opened up at 5700rpm. They are much more audible than vtec at 4400rpm. You really cant hear vtec unless you are really listening for it.

There is a modulator on the drivers side of the intake with a vacuum line connected to it.

With the higher comp. ur vtec is probably still kicking in at 4500 but not noticeable till 6000rpm.

Wouldnt be oil pressure because his vtec wouldnt kick at all. When you oil pressure is low and it doesnt kick when it supposed to it wont kick at all. I think it might even go into safe mode. Evertime a friends car vtec didnt kick it was low on oil but never kicked at a later time. I think your vtec is kicking but your hearing your secondaries kick and mistaking it as vtec.

This isn't completely true, On my old engine if I nailed it around a corner and the oil was a little low VTEC would come on late, whenever enough oil pressure was built.
