Default tranny question...

sorry if this has been covered somewhere on H-T before, but i did search and only found one topic, and it only gave me a little info. i'm thinking theres more to it, so this is why i'm posting.

okay, so i heard that 96-00 EX(y8) tranny's are the best sohc tranny's.
how are they better or what makes them better than a z6 tranny?

i have a 93 sol si and i need to change the synchros, but i was thinking that i should just get another tranny. if i'm going with another tranny, i'd rather get a better one(y8 supposedly) instead of another z6 tranny. so if anybody can help me out or direct me to a link that answers everything to my question, thanks. if this should be in a different forum, i was thinking the EG+ civic/sol forum, please move it where it should be posted, thanks again.

Default Re: tranny question... (jL iLLuZiOnz 9)

getting another tranny is always your best bet, but you also have a chance that that trannys synchros are bad....unless you check before you buy. Usually from what i have been hearing, spend the same amount of money on new synchros the getting another tranny....so the question is new or used? really....stay with the z6 made for that car...keep it that way...just my opinion...
