Default Electromotive TEC3 Anybody Using It?

I've been reading up about Electromotive's TEC3 standalone engine management/ignition. I really want to get rid of Honda's crappy distributor and switch over to coil packs (which is what the TEC3 does). Does anybody have any experience with TEC2 or TEC3??? I haven't been able to find much info regarding Hondas and TEC3.

I don't know of any Honda's running it, but I've seen a few Toyota's running it and they love it. Apparently it does have the capability to run VTEC Honda engines, but I don't know how well. I guess you could always try it and find out.

Look into SDS. Its easlier to tune and cheaper than Tec3. It was good enough to take our car to 10.50 all motor. http://www.sdsefi.com

I agree, SDS is a hell of a lot simpler, and accomplishes the same goals. I'd look into the SDS.

We run Electromotive systems on just about everything we build.... Hondas/ nissans, etc. Electromtoive could be considered easy to use if your familiar with the software and the product in general. Also, the elctromotive units seem to have alot more options then the SDS units do... I dont know alot about SDS so thats all ill say. As far as running them on Hondas.... TEC3 has treated us great. Electromtives TEC support is top notch, and there facilities arent far from us if we want to talk to someone face to face about a problem or question.

<-----TEC2 on personal car.... i love it! I do wish it was a TEC3 though.

Thanks for your replies guys. How is the install for TEC3 on Hondas? Did you start with a blank harness or did you get the optional wired harness from Electromotive?

Yeah we used electromotive on one of the cars we built also. Its a great standalone system if your pockets are deep enough. But if your not making ridicilous amounts of power and running some incredibly high compression, etc..... then you probably really don't need it unless you just want to get it just because, but its up to you so good luck.

I use TEC2 on both of my Honda and love it.
I dynoed my nonvtec allmotor 1.8 w/ stock ecu, afc, and a fpr. it made 168 @ 127.
I dynoed the same set up 3 weeks later with Tec2 and it made 178 @ 128 with no other changes.
