Default Expo 4: Northeast Caravan?

Since everyone else seems to be planning their caravans... I figure we slackers up in the North East should probably get something going...

Someone wanna take the reigns?

where are u coming from? many of us are in the NYC area so Im guessing most will be leaving from around that area. We should all meet at Robs in BKLN and roll deep through Manhattan 5 wide and just pimp it stoplight to stoplight

I know there should be a group of us coming across the border...

I just looked at the map... I didn't realize you guys in NYC were so close already!

Maybe we should meet somewhere in PA and arrange a short 100 mile roll...

I'll probably be heading out at around ~10am and whoever else decides to head down around that time.

No offense to anyone here but I personally dislike huge caravans. Too much asshatery and not enough self control in those situations. Especially with people I haven't caravaned with before.

it will be a relatively short caravan, summit is about 5hrs away from me. there are 2 good ways from north/central nj and nyc: 95s to baltimore, 495 beltway to 70w, and 340w to hotel (good for NON rush hour times) OR nj turnpike to 276 into pa and onto pa turnpike 76w, then 81s to hotel ("best" choice for rush hour).

you will rue the day you get stuck in the 95 baltimore/washington dc rush hour traffic. i've gotten stuck twice, once not too bad, and the other time it took 1 hour to go 1/4 mile.

what about cutting over into PA on I-80 or I-78 (for those of us close to NYC) and then hitting I-81s? no rush out to deal with at all...

Your best bet might be I-78 West, to about Harrisburg, then I-81 South..

When is every one planning on getting going?

I'm down to meet up on Thursday night and bar hopping in Westchester or Manhattan and have some peeps crash @ my house.

I'll alsotalk to the owners of my local dyno to see if maybe they can hook a couple of us up for some # runs....

Just an idea though...

you mean the 695 beltway.. 495 is DC and you don't need to go all the way down there..

and yes, b'more/DC traffic is terrible during rush hour..

Ok now are you planning on working on our car there? Or having it ready before you get there ie pads wheels etc etc?
Never done an HPDE so I still need to know what I need to prepare before I get to Wva and what to swap when I get to WVA

hmmm true...since its not that long of a trip, I could probably take care of the oil change and pads before hand, and just bring the extra set of wheels with me. But Im down for whatever, I just dont wanna drive by myself so Im gonna go whenever others are leaving. I CANT get pulled over in dirty jersey so thats why I wanna get outta jersey as soon as possible haha.

Yeah that would be great, We could give all the old people on my block the scare of their life!!!

I'm going to roll seperate then everyone, I have some plans (secret) if I told you then I would have to kill ya.

I would like to get there early Friday, maybe as early as 8-9 AM so I could enjoy the day checking the caR and then party with all the early birds.

I think I was the only car tagging along with the ATS truck. All the other aaR owners are crazy bastards driving 90+ mph..
