i believe the only differences between the LX DX, and the EX is that the lx/dx have different exaust manifolds, engine computers (pretty sure..and lx computer works with ex) and a few other things that accounts for the extra HP... but the physical motor i believe is the same. since its an F22. so it should just go right in.

As far as install, they are all the same as far as power they are NOT. The EX has 130 HP and the dx/lx only has 100hp. and as he said, the EX has different exhaust.

They have real headers 4-2-1 where the lx has manifolds.

The EX trany also has little more "umph" the the others. It comes with a "sports" mode that the others do not have.

Alright the main difference between the ex and lx dx is the ECU, exhaust manifold, and intake manifold. All those account for different hp and tq between models. The ex IM and EM can go on either engine (since they are all f22a). And as far as the tranny with "sport" mode. All it does is increase the shift limit (same redline) but if you were to press the gas down 1/2 way normal mode would shift at about 3-4K versus "sport" mode with the same gas depressed will shift at like 4K to 6K. Personally its a waste of gas and if you want to redline it all the time just go WOT. Also it will be more eager to downshift. I have it on mine and NEVER use it.

They are all interchangeable. You can swap any F22A into that car. Use EX Intake and Exhaust manifolds.

unless your motor is just plain bad, you could always just do a vtec headswap for much cheaper...here's an article on the how-to:

by the way, join that site if you aren't a member already...great technical info and detail strictly dedicated to accords...

an f22a6 head would be as good/better and straightforward.....from the 92-93 accord ex/se........not vtec (the SOHC f series vtec heads are for better gas, not more power)....compared with the other 90-93 accord motors, the f22a6 head has a better cam, flows better, the intake manifold is a better design, then you just use the ex ecu to control it all and you have 140hp or so........should be cheap, really simple and just as good......but the engines are all about the same except for the 92-93 accords being external coil and the 90-91's are internal......trannies are all interchangeable also......if you want more power, you can always swap in an h23a1 or h22a or something if you have the money...really easy to do that also, if you have some tools and somewhere to do it

I ALWAYS use my sports mode on my car. and I notice no diference in MPG. Your right it does increase the time that it shifts to a higher RPM, but hell, thats a good thing. and if ther is any change in MPG it must be so small that it's not noticible.
