engine swap for 1st gen CRX
86-87 teg motor is the one you want. The wiring is easier than the 88-89. That is if your CRX is an Si with MPFI. If you have a carb motor then its going to be a nitemare!!

eh, its not THAT bad if you use the wiring harness from a donar car, its just extra work to get it right, but basicly you just use the WHOLE wiring harness from a 86-87 teg, 88-89 isnt THAT hard, it just take some time to rewire the car correctly, you also have to find out a Si fuel line and get a external fuel pump or get a SI fuel tank with a intank pump... but the tanks are a farkin pain to get off because there usualy held on with under coating
joing redpepperracing.com(link in my sig) and search around, you will find out that alot of ppl have done this swap already successfully at that, even a ton of ppl have done the electronic advanced swap, but someone made an adapter to adapt 88+ electronics to 1g Si motors, im doing this on my 87 when I get around to fixing it and getting a title for it(salvage with very little damage)

If its a 1st gen carbed, your best bet is to find one of the old school brown top zc's. It will bolt right in, make 125hp, and no messing around with wires to install the weaker USDM D16A1 with 113 or 118hp engines.
