Default AWFUL rubbing noise coming from rear tires...

There is some rust on the rear break pads/rotors. But there has been for a little while now. It just started 2 days ago...

It rubs on and off... it only rubs at a certain point of the tire rotation. I hear it from both sides...pretty sure. I can only hear it at low speeds, but i think the engine just drowns it out at higher speeds. It does come and go, and sometimes gets worse under breaking, but it occurs while just cruising in neutral aswell, or atleast thats when i can hear it best.

My only thoughts where that it was the rust finally taking effect...I'll pull the tire of this weekend and take a look at it.

Well i'm not really sure what is rubbing.

There are Koni Yellows on there now, and 450lb gournd controls on the rear...

but it didn't always make that noise...only think i can think of is going over some speed bumps. the car bottomed out...could that of damaged it?

i was thinking maybe just raising the car up some...

which is it brakes or tires?

if the noise is made only when bottoming out on speedbumps or hard turning then its your tires and you wouldve heard it by now.

if the noise is metallic scraping and it oscillates sometimes then its your brake pads and they need to be replaced!

Alrighty...took a good look at it (in the light this time)...and the rotor is torn to shreds. A good half of the width is scraped deep enough to feel rough.

Looks like new pads and rotors are going on my shopping list...

Its only on the back left wheel though...i'm wondering how it happened. I thought maybe something got caught betweent the pad and the rotor, but there's no room for that...
