Default Thinking of buying ...

Im thinking of buying this 4 dr GS-R. It has GREAT interrior and the engine is clean enough to eat off of. its a 95 with 78,000k miles.

I test drove it yesterday and i was pretty impressed up until i started driving and between about 3k and 4k Rpm , there was like this odd little buzzing sound. it didnt sound like much but i want to make sure its just a small thing i can fix before i buy the car. I dont know what the sound could've been , sounded like maybe something vibrating on somthing else , but when i parked the car and revved it didnt do it.

Any help would be appriciated. Thank you.

Congratulations! That was the most vague question of the year! hahahaha anyway, if its at a dealer just tell him you want it gone before you buy it. If its not at a dealer take it to a reputable mechanic and ask them to drive it.

I'd let a mechanic look at it.

It might be related to your suspension or something else that is moving while the car is in motion. These are probably the hardest things to diagnose but often aren't the worst of problems.

I suggest driving it on a cold start and see if there is any knocking. good luck.

when i picked my GSR up i had quite a few crazy sounds coming at different RPMs. First at around 3k id get a weird buzz/rattle type sound, that was part the CAT,part heat shields and part detiorating stock exhaust manifold...then i had another weird sound that had something to do with the Power steering, cant really remember wat it was but i got that fixed right away, cheap too. good luck

its most likely the heat shielding under the car, you can just jack your car up and bend the heat shielding so it will not rattle anymore.

Integra's have exhaust rattling problems, that's probably what it is, deal with it.

I get it checked out, but i had the same problem, and it was my heat sheild, so its proably not that big of deal at all, rip the heat sheild off and see what happens

I've read that a lot of GSR's and LS 94+ have that rattle. It is related to the header and some heatshields. Tell them that you want $2000 knocked off for the rattle problem then take that savings and invest in aftermarket header and exhaust.

When i bought my Gsr it was making the same noise from 3000 until 3600 rpm. After i took off the heat shield off the stock header, i foud out that i had 2 broke studs that hold the header. I just replaced the header with an aftermarket one and replaced the studs which were like $3 each at acura. That took care of it!!!
