Default Re-pinning

Hey guys, not sure if this is in the correct section or not, if it isn't my apologies.

Ive heard previous people speak about re-pinnign tooks to re-pin plugs, does anyone know what they are actually called? im here in newzealand looking to purchase one and having a hell of a hard time.
Please help sum1 :D

also regarding the evap purge control solinoid, anyone know where these are found on the EG6 SIR Civic's?
its not anywhere to be found on the b18c engine i have nor on the firewall of the car, are these possibly located closer to the fuel tank?
does anyone have any photos either?

Cheers in advance

Default Re: Re-pinning (songling)

The tools I use to release pins from connectors are just stainless steel dental picks... Search around online (actually where I bought mine, and they turned out to be local distributor but oh well) for "dental pick sets" and hopefully you'll come up with some results.. If there's no where local just have them shipped from anywhere... They're not too expensive... As for the EVAP purge solenoid, you're actually talking about the SOLENOID itself right, not the EVAP charcoal chanister on the firewall... If you're talkin about the purge solenoid itself then it should be attached to the back of the IN manifold (as you look at it from the front of the car, it'll be on the right hand side) atleast on the B18C (you're EG6 may not have it, but if it's supposed to that's where it should be)... Maybe I should also clarify, if it's a 96+ B18C then the EVAP purge solenoid should be very obvious as it's bolted directly to the top of the intake manifold... Hope this helps but let me know if you need anything else...

hey dude,
ill try using some picks, just no idea wat kind of clip im picking at,, anyhow ill give it ago,
as for the evap i think the engine i bought didn't come with the evap its a 97 jdm spec engine so im pretty srue the guys kept the purge solinoid, its alll good ill go buy 1. Does it really matter or effect engines performance if i just plug off the pipe coming out the plenum chamber? isntead of buying a solinoid that is
