I used to own a 2nd gen, but now I think I want a first gen for a project. I know that Hasport has a mount kit for the b-series and there was a swap article in one of the magazines. I was wondering what year/model would keep the swap from being a nightmare. Obvious, fuel injection would be the choice. What model/year has fuel injection? Also, for suspension, what are the options. Don't the front use leaft springs?? And lastly, what are the weights for the different models?

I just think that with their lightweight and uniqueness, it could be a pretty cool project. Just looking for some info before looking for a shell.

 

!985-87 CRX SI's are the ONLY gen. ones with EFI.

You'd want a 85-87 Si the weights range from 1890lbs to 1950 or so. Leaf springs in the front? Not sure where you go that the front is torsion bars, the rear is a axle with a panhard bar and coils. A b series swap is going to cost you around $500-$1000 more than the swap into a 2nd gen. IMO its worth it and I'm currently saving up for parts. I have the hasport mount kit and its very nice. I think HCP or placeracing makes a mount kit also but you'll have to call them and ask.

Yes all 1 gen CRX Si's have a sunroof and a rear wiper.
