Default want power but not for 1/4

I'm more interested in high way passing power and power out of a corner. What kind of setup/engine am I looking at in general; turbo, n/a, highrevving, low revving? I'm guessing that once you're moving hp is more of a factor than torque. I apologize if this is in the wrong section, didn't know where a question like this belongs.

so it seems for passing power you do need the torque, or is it that you need a broad power band, or both? I thought torquey motors like the h22 or a supercharger would run out of breath at high way speeds? sorry to sound like a pestering noob
