Default STR cam seal vs. GE cam seal

can the STR cam seal be used over and over just like the GE cam seal? does the GE cam seal offer any advantage over the STR cam seal. it cost 5 bucks more. i know i know, its just a cam seal, but i want to know anyways. haha.

As long as it's not the stock rubber cam seals, then you should be good. Get what's cheaper.

the updated honda seal is what GE and STR copied.
The only difference is the honda seal is plastic with o-rings.
I still use the same seal from 3 years ago and it doesnt leak.
The old rubber seals suck yes, but the newer honda seals work just as well
as anything else aftermarket.

Hmmm. . .I haven't had experience with the new ones yet, I'll have to give them a try.

i got an after market gasket kit that came with a seal that was a hard rubber casing around an aluminum plug, have not started it yet but it looks reliable.

One thing that we have improved upon over the years, is include viton o-rings. These viton o-rings hold up to higher heat temps and the oil breakdown. We use these in our dipsticks now as well and our fuel rail adaptor kits for injector o-rings.
