well the thing is i jus got my 1st civic so i'm still unaware of the normal things they do. well ne way when i get up in the morn to warm up my car it idles at like 1500 rpm but once it's driven for a while it drops down to normal. i'm not sure if this is normal cuz all i've ever owned was a dsm (prolly goin to get flamed for that but if it makes a diff the honda is 100 times better) i won't b able to respond to ur replies cause i just became a member and iv'e already used my 5 replys for the day. if you have any idea whats goin on let me know

 

yeah, the car runs higher rpms to warm the motor up, then lowers it to normal once its warm.

 

Yes, it will idle higher until it is warm. And none of us have any reason to flame a dsm.

 

Everyone I know that owns a honda has this going on. I was sick of it with my old prelude cause the valvetran was so loud before it warmed up. Just something I guess you have to get used to, Nah i don't think anyone on here will flame you for driveing a DSM my friends has a 4-wheel drive turbo talon that gives me whip lash. especialy when he revs to 5k and and drops the clutch with out spining tires... just crazy.

its just doing it to warm the car up , nothing to worry about. Other cars besides hondas do it aswell
