** WHich Seat Sparco Fighter or Torino 2 **
OK OK i have been debating and reserching for the longest time which racing seat i want to get for my 91 crx si. Im down to either the momo fighter or the torino 2....in all black either way i might add.....
the main difference in these seats is that the fighter is about 20lbs lighter ( weighing only 15 lbs each) and is NOT reclinable.
* (Torino 2 is 37.0lbs each)
Many people have said that the non reclinable isn't a big issue. and shouldn't be for me since, well i have a 2 seater crx.
The fighter also, like the torino has the anti-wear patchs in main spots.
Please help me decide. these are going in with a 4-point kirk roll bar and schroth harnesses.
Thanks! all comments welcome.
The Sparco Fighter ($471.07 each)

The Sparco Torino 2 ($565.39 Each)
BTW here is the car they going into.

don't quote me on this, i just happen to remember something i read and I imagine someone can elaborate...but I read that the reclinables aren't nhra compliant or something like that? I could be completely wrong but thought I'd bring up the issue so someone could set it straight
the evos are more based for racing.
the fighters are a cross between the pro 2000, evos, and the torinos.
they arn't an issue abotu getting in and out also. but keep em coming

Honestly, they're 2 completely different seats. It all depends on what you're looking for. If you want something that will hold you tight in corners then get the fighters. If you want something that's going to be more comfortable for daily drives then get the Torninos.
It's like being really hungry for pizza but then asking everyone if you should eat pizza or chow mein.

im really hungry for the fighters. better in turns. holds u more. a lot lighter.
but they don't recline. im going to sit in a pro 2000 whic his very very simular to this seat this weeek. im just worried about comfort in them. i drive 45mins 3 days a week, sometimes everyday to school/work and thats with out goign where i want.
in the summer i take 3hr drives to the beach,
but people say u get used to them or u don't notice....

go with the reclineables, trust me. By the time it sounds like you spend behind the wheel, you'll want something you can adjust. The fighters look hot but I think the torino's are the practical choice.
IMO-those fighters dont really go with your car, they look like they should be in some rally car. Torino's are classy, and like a good pair of shoes, never go outta style

I personally would never lose my reclinability (is that a word?) on my daily driver. I just love being able to recline/adjust...besides never know when the GF is gonna get frisky.
For a race car Im all for REAL race seats (ones that dont recline) because they usually give you more support.

non recline drivers
recline pass.
IF you race it. Looks to be a daily driver so keep the reclines.
Non reclines aren't fun to get in and out of.

I agree. I'm personally rockin' the Torinos for a daily driver myself and I have no complaints--and they look a little nicer in my opinion.

Yeah, a side company Wedge Engineering makes em for all non JDM cars like ours
All brackets fit on JDM cars-they're always having probs with seats not fitting correctly

Do you have anymore info about this company? (IE, URL, phone #, email?)
Thanks!

hmm.. As far as HOLDING you in either one will be great if they are accompanied by a 4 or 5 pt. harness.
I went on the track with stock seats and stock seatbelts and I slide around everywhere. I wanted nothing more than to buy racing seats to "keep me in place". Once I got my rollbar I put in my 4 pt. harness and the hold me in place SO well that I veto'd buying new seats.
If you aren't going to be using a 4pt or 5pt. harness then ignore this post.

I'm a weight ***** so I picked the fighter. Whats the point of getting aftermarket seats and not getting lighter ones. Besides the accomodations of 4 or 5 point harness. But you can fit a 4 point on a stock si seat so......
Don't stock si seats weigh like 33lbs and these torinos weigh 37lbs
, but that is probably because of the added protection though.
