What cams should I use with a 11.6 compression?
I plan on getting my car tune after the rebuild. What cams should I use in a poorman's type r setup...skunk2 stage1 or 2? or jdm ITR?
We carry cams for that application. Specs are as follows 470 lift and 272 duration @ .050.....If you have any questions feel free to hit me up 310-328-5514

I'd go with stage 1's becasue u can probably yield more power with the 1's with that comp than u will with stage 2's. Stage 2 cams will require atleast 12.5+ comp to show there true protential.

The Stage 2's will ultimately make the most power, but the ITR cams and Stage 1's will kill it in the low and midrange. It really depends on what you want from your car.

I would go with Type-Rs or stage 1s . If you want a pretty big cam with streetable compression then you will need to rev higher to make decent power from it. And as said before you will get better mid-range out of Type-Rs or Stage 1s.
Remember, it isn't always how much peak power you make in your rpm band it is also where you make the power in your rpm band.

Stage 2s dont need that much compression, 11.5-12.0:1 is really where they do best. Stage 1s may leave the original poster wanting more.

thanks for all the replys. I guess I should of been more specific.
My goals are to achieve 180-200hp to the wheels and about 135lb of torque with a nice mid range pull, but at the same time I want to keep my revs around 9k, and 9500 rpm at the most.
also, if I do go with stage 1's or itr cams would it be a good idea to change to stiffer valve springs?

if you plan on reving to 9000 consistantly that is definatley something to add to your list, aswell as retainers
I used DPR cams in my old motor and had a similair compression ratio.
Made 240+ and 166tq.

thanks fellas. RS and skunk2 cams looks very promising.
Sorry guys but I got another nooby question. I know alot of you guys have deal with these things many times before so from your experience how much whp can I get out of this setup? (with an acceptional good tuner)

I say skunk 2 stage 2s all the way. Very Very similar if not exact same thing as JUN 3s I think its like 1 whp difference. But you dont have to worry about skunk2 stg 2s snapping into pieces......
