Default Racing Cat. Converter

Hello all, I was planning on replacing my Cat. Converter with a racing one and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these do they help hp or hurt or what?

Also, an off the wall question I plan to boost my accord by the end of the summer and as of now I have a f22a6 in the car(92 ex) but it has 150k miles on it and I also have a 70k mile f22b in my backyard that i plan to swap when this engine blows or something that cost close to 1k bucks to fix but I was wondering if I boost the f22a6 could I switch most of the turbo parts to the f22b and what parts would not switch over? (sorry for the length I wanted to explain well)

Any suggestions are nice.

Thanks Guys

AZNPRIDE!

If you are in a state w/ out emissions laws.. (I.E: Florida).. and if you dont mind the volume.. just take your cat out and replace it with some straight piping or a resonator (if you want to lower the sound). Hi-flow cats, in my eyes, are only necessary where there is strict emissions laws.. screw the o-zone

amen to that.....i think the ozone is all a conspiracy.....just get a test pipe or gut ur cat w/ a screw driver if u want to, there really no gain from it.....im just gonna gut my cat when i install my exhuast....why???.....just to spite the environmentalist.....

accords only have 1 cat, so ur gonna gaine NOTHING by replacing it (cept the ability to shoot flames ), and if ur goin turbo, ur gonna want a much wider exhaust anyways, so theres no point in wasting money on a new cat

You will gain about 3 HP on a 300 HP engine by using a 'high flow cat". Do you think you realy need it?

the scale is about right, but not everything is measure by the peak hp, just like apex'i vafc, it would give you a truth hp gain but the curve is what makes it attractive to have.

dont get caught with a test pipe in emission controlled state(ca)

How would I find out if my state is strict on emissions and whatnot. Well we don't have any vehicle inspections so I wouldn't think OK is very strict.

Just buy or make a test pipe. For like 30$ gives a nice sound. U can feel a little difference as well.

im proud to say that i have cats in all my cars even my race car. the way i see it...try standing behind your car with no cat, and put your face close to the muffler. breath deep. see how long you can do that.

thats what you are putting into the air we all breathe without a cat. i bet it makes everyone feel healthy.

i ran with a test pipe for a while. exhaust is raspier and there was no gain compared to having a high flow cat installed instead. race cats are just junk to me had one on another car, which is sitting waiting for the real cat to go in.
