Out of everything you listed, only the brake pads are going to be increasing brake torque.

Solid rotors/Cobalt pads/good brake fluid are all you need.

Honestly, for a car that is looking to have 300-600hp (from what his post says), I think more brake torque is necissary.

Cobalts street pads will help, but I would still opt for a larger piston caliper or a larger diameter rotor.

I agree that more braking torque is necessary. A caliper upgrade is definately recommended.

stopping is alot more important in my book than hauling ***. I dont know if your building a street car or track car but you should definatly put your brake setup into thought as one of the first things you do.

Umm, no. A 2600lb car going 100mph will take x number of feet to stop regardless of how much HP the engine has.

If his current rotors have enough force to lock up his wheels than he has all the braking power he needs. It doesn't matter if the motor makes 100 or 1000hp. The physical principles involved are the same.

Cheers,
Sean

but with more power he will be able to get to 100 mph a lot faster. its a lot easier to get yourself into trouble with a 500hp hatch then it is with 97hp.

Exactly what I was thinking. Also, it's easier to lose track of a more powerful car and go faster/farther than you would ordinarily intend to. When this happens, a bit of extra braking force certainly couldn't hurt.
