My idle bounces
I own a 93 lx, and once in awhile the needle will move from 900-2000 and repeat for about 3 minutes when idling. The engine makes a sound that resembles tapping the accelerator and letting go quickly. What can this be?

First thing i can say is do a search on the topic. I had the same problem and i searched on it and found the same exact thing the mechanic told me. I had to replace my Idle Enhancement Valve. antifreeze flows through it and mine was corroded out. It cost me $300 roughly to do that.
Check to make sure your coolant level is full first then have your IAC valve checked. It could also be a bad intake gasket seen this before. Check out epartsco.com if you need parts they're pretty cheap.

Does your temp gauge stay burried at dead cold in cold weather even after you drive for some distance? I had this same problem and my temp gauge stayed buried, even if I was getting some warm air on heat. My thermostat was wide open. Replced and everything works fine now.
You may want to clean the IACV (idle air control valve) its been notorious to go out and cause idle problems on the 4th gens. If cleaning doesnt work try replacing it. OEM is the best evAR. If the temp doesn't open up I would recommend you take a look at your thermostat, it might be stuck, hope this helps
