Default clutch cable and throttle cable too short perhaps? b16a crx

well ive read about how you need the integra throttle cable, which i got, and i also heard that the stock crx clutch cable will work. well i put the throttle cable on, and i figure i have this thing hooked up right, maybe not but i seems that its as tight as it will go but i still have slack in it. you tell me what you think

do i just have it screwed on wrong?

now to the clutch cable. i heard many people say you can use your stocker. well i did, and found that it was so short i couldn't get it to even loop into the arm. so i read up and someone said to just take the arm off and then put the cable in it then tighten all of it back down. and i did and it seems like it worked. i pushed the clutch in and shifted the gears, everything felt nice. then i notice that my clutch is depressed and i can still shift. i loosened the cable as much as i can, but it still will not dissengage. heres some pictures

The throttle cable looks good, its supposed to be loose. Any tighter and the throttle will stick.
I used the stock clutch cable but I also ran it behind the motor for looks which probly also gave it some more slack but my stock cable worked perfect and has for 3 years.

They should be identical.

no, the wiring for the car was still in progress so the car couldn't have been started. i was just testing it out cause i just hooked up the shift linkage and clutch cable. i wanted to see how it felt and thats when i found out that i could shift with the clutch disengaged.

You should be able to shift without the clutch when the car is off.

Not sure of the accuracy of this but,
From what I have read, the stock cable had to be altered as in this picture..

well i don't think it how i ran the cable because there is plenty of slack to move it all around but as far as the adjustable part its as loose as it will go. but maybe being able to shift while the car is off is my problem. but wouldn't i have to still push the clutch in to make it to where i could shift?

i had the exact same problems that you are having.

i solved the clutch problem by caughing up some extra money and getting a 1990 integra clutch cable. it was the perfect length plus it was nice to have a new cable - it felt better than my worn out one.

on to the throttle....i used an integra one as you did and also ran into the same problem. in your pics it looks as though its not tight enough, which means you wont get wide open throttle (and you know what that means...). i found out that you can shift the bracked to the right and then use a piece of metal to prevent it from coming loose (that way it can still be fastened with two screws and instead of one). here is a pic to better explain:

its really easy to do....shouldnt take more than 10 minutes to drill up a piece of metal. hope that helps....btw nice camera you got there
