i think im screwed
today i was taking out my passanger side axle to get ready to pull my motor out (h22 coming in thurs) and i was trying to get my lower ball joint out with a 2/3 jaw puller (pos didnt work so i pounded the hell out of my lower control arm and got it out) and it kinda made the bolt into a square shape at the end. i was thinkin of rethreading it but if its in a square shape im thinking it wont help much at all... so im wondering what are some other options that are out there?? thx!
i think you're screwed too
have you tried putting the bolt back on? maybe you could take off the entire control arm and take it somewhere to get the old bolt pressed out, get a new one from honda and put it in
might try the rethread too - it might work.

this happened to me also, what I did was...buy a balljoint from Honda which cost around 40 bucks, and got a shop to press out my old ones and press in the new ones for 20 bucks. Good luck.
maybe find a friend or local junkyard that has the control arm for like $40 or less prolly.
what year civic ... i have a friend with a few spare control arms .. maybe i could get one pressed out here and you could have it for $0.32 for shipping

you can try grinding down the "mushroomed" part so you can get the nut back on,and then run a die over it to clean up the threads.i've done that a couple times and was able to get it usable again..lesson learned.

pick up a die set and see if you can re thread it enough so you can thread a bolt onto the undamaged threads. or pop the whole knuckle out (using a pickle fork or tie rod puller mind you) and replace the whole ball joint, which might be your only choice if you messed the threads up beyond repair. Next time use a pickle fork/tie rod puller for those pesky ball joints

First off, don't ever work on your car again. Second off, you are screwed.
How did you manage to do that? I'm so confused at this point. I would say take off the whol assembly and take it somewhere to get the bolt removed.. Then buy another from honda(which will prolly be 20 bucs) and then put it all back together without sucking at life this time.
