how many miles can a motor take??
im thinking of buying a motor that has more than 120k on it. is it worth buying. how long does a motor usually last for?? its a 94 gsr. any thought and suggestion would help.
i remember about 2 yrs ago i saw a 85 crx sold with 650k on all original parts
but to answer your question it depends on what the motor has been through. if its been beat to **** for 120k then its not gonna be in good shape. meaning way out of round cylinders. something like that would need to be resleeved. if it was grandma's car. you'll be a-ok

I wouldn't want to pay much for a motor with those miles. You can't really make any assumptions as to what kind of shape it is in. Even if they took care of it, that is still a good amount of normal wear and tear.

well i was thinking about buying a car. thats y. car cost about 5000obo. how much will it cost to rebuild?? im in socal. whats the average cost?
I bought my 90 Integra GS 5-speed for $600. Had 230k on it when I got it and it is still running strong. The guy I bought it from kept it stock, but he drag raced it a lot. Only problems? Besides routine maintenance, 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th synchros grind, but other than that it is fine.
I bought a 92' GSR back in 2000...I got it with 180,000 miles on it! For $3800 and a set of Enkei Katanas, I couldn't resist...Needless to say, I drove it until I put 230,000 miles on it. When I tore the motor apart to rebuild it proper, everything STILL looked good...and I drove the **** out of it, and I'm sure whoever had it before me did too!

I was third owner on a 95 gsr in october of 02' it had 117,000 miles then, now it has about 145,000 and I give it hell many times a day, no smoke, and no problems. All I did was replace clutch and flywheel.
Depends on former owners, personally I dont like to buy cars that have been modified already, increases the chance of items failing.
