DIY: HOME DEPOT LIP ON EF (the proper way)
I've read a lot of posts on Home Depot lips on this site, and many people have been having problems with them getting wavy or falling off. If done the proper way, they look very good. Also, if you're not a fan of rivets, read on:
MATERIAL (Home Depot):
-8FT of black Base Cove Molding from the flooring section (there are ones that are 4 inches or 2 inches wide, your choice)
-3M 5lb Double Sided Tape (2 rolls, you might make mistakes)
-Aluminum flat rod (about 1 inch wide and 1M long)
-Rubbing alcohol
-Scissors
PROCEDURE:
-Jack the car up
-Wipe down the front bumper, base molding, and aluminum flat with rubbing alcohol (this is a must)
-When dry, tape up the front bumper with the double sided tape, and MAKE SURE the tape is all lined up horizontally
-Take the base molding, and follow the tape while pressing down firmly on the molding, and making sure it is going on straight
-Cut off the excess base molding with scissors (it cuts pretty easily)
-Once you got the molding on there, press down on the molding with your hand making sure it is stuck on firm
-Tape up the aluminum flat, go under your car and stick it on the back side of the lip, molding the lip to the aluminum nice and firmly
-Stand back and enjoy your new lip!
I've had the lip on for a good week, and my method seems to work quite nicely. I didn't have the aluminum flat on before, and when I went on the highway, the lip got a little wavy, so I decided to stick some on the back side of the lip so it doesn't bend anymore. Aluminum is the best because it is light weight and the tape sticks to it very firmly. Take your time, and make sure you wipe everything down with rubbing alcohol. Enjoy!
PS: I will have pics up shortly.

Good write up, get some pictures in there to make it even better!
Any pictures of the finished product? Im curious to see how it looks..
Question: How much does it all cost? How long does it it take?
