Default H22 Computer problems

I have a 2001 Prelude ecu in my 99 Accord with the H22 swap. The problem I am facing is the antitheft will not allow me to run the car. I built the wiring harness to match a prelude and rewired the car to match also. My question is has anyone ran into this problem or can anyone help me disable the antitheft. If anyone has access to an ecu for a 96 prelude and wants to sell, please let me know.

I heard that you need to go and get the ECU reprogrammed at the Honda dealer. I could be wrong. The ECUs of OBDII are programmed to match a particular key.
Your best bet might be an OBDI ECU, they sell them in the Classifieds section.

Good luck.

I tried to have the ecu reprogrammed at the dealer and they would not touch it because it was a hybrid, and the accord antitheft is different than the prelude. I have considered the obd1 option but I have already spent so many hours on rewire to obd2 computer. thanks for the reply though.

Yeah, I hear you.

One thing could be to get an obd2-obd1 converter. They go for less than 100 dollars on ebay, or you can get a skunk2 for 200+ dollars. I think if you got a standalone unit you would avoid this problem also, but that mean a lot of money, i.e. AEM AMS.

yea my car is a 01 accord with a jdm h22a but what i did was get a obd1 motor then bought the converstion harness from skunk2.
you can convert that motor to obd1 but you will have to convert the distributer to obd1 also the injectors have to be changed.and wou will need a 92-95 h22a ecu. my info might be a little off on the injectors but you get the picture.

I know what your talking about, because I did that swap myself last summer. Are you using the accord harness, or a prelude? If your using a F23 harness you need that skunk2 conversion harness no matter what.

So are you using the F23 fuelrail and injectors? If not, you will have to get a resistorbox...and you got some wiring to do. And you need a OBD1 ECU with your OBD1 engine.

Hope it helps
