Default Suspension bushings

ok, i recently acquired (for free!)a '78 civic that used to be an ITD race car(improved touring for those few who dont know) and noticed that the front and rear suspension bushings were stock and a little ratty. anyway, im interested in poly a poly bushing kit, but was wondering where i might be able to find what size/diameter/thickness/whatever for later model honda bushings(eg, 88-91civ/rex) since i dont have one to take apart to figure this out.

the front suspension setup looks amazingly similar to a 2gen crx only missing the upper A-arms on the front.

any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Are you going to race the car in ITD? If so, best to get something made custom.

Front control arms for first gen's are really hard to find, you might end up having to custom fabricate something, in which case sperical bearings will be your freind.

Gotta love those old cars. Wanna sell it?

You might try calling Energy suspension and giving them detailed dimensions for what you need. I've heard of other people doing this, specifially for 323GTX rear bushings, they were helpful in finding parts that would work.

Oh, I forgot to mention, too, that control arms/bushings/balljoints from a 1980-1983 Civic will bolt in. They're a little longer, and it's a good way to gain some camber.

Edit: hopefully this doesn't become another anti-polyurethane thread.....

lol yeah me too! im going to put some 2gen knuckles on the front and modify the rear brake setup so i can run 4x100 wheels.
i also have an '80 civic wagon that is waiting for the rebuilt ZC in my garage... put 88 crx brakes on it and it will outstop a brick hitting the ground!
