yeah, i checked out that website and they only have 92-95 USDM motors
the only 98 they have are the Type S motors, but those are out of my price range.

your best bet for such a new motor is a USDM motor. newer 97+ JDM ones are hard to find in stock even though some distributors list that they have them. the shop i deal with tried finding one for a customer about a yr ago and called all these online places and nobody had one even though their website said they could get them.

Nick H - enlighten me about this immobilizer

and I'm looking for a 98 USDM H22 or newer to BAR certifiy it

I believe Inlinefour has a 97 USDM (1500) Longblock only

The immobilizer requires the key to be chipped in order for the car to start

I think you can get a JDM ECU to get around that or get a key cut from the dealer for the USDM ECU (registration required)

for 97+ USDM H22s you can use a 96 ECU, they are hard to find and $$$ for this reason.

try http://www.importautosalvage.com for 97+ USDM H22s

would i be able to BAR certify it through this process?

and I heard it's possible to certify a JDM motor, i would just have to buy the emissions sensors. is that true?

Wow I feel like an ***... I didnt notice you're from cali. Sometimes i take for granted that louisiana never does any emissions test. Sorry I dont have any of the info you want.

the 97+ H22 are OBD II right? and so is the 98 and newer F23, so there shouldn't be a problem smogging it??? and as for the antitheft, how could I convince the dealer to fix a key for it?
