Default Quick bearing question

I am going to get my bearings from flatlander racing to rebuild a D15B2.. On their site it says that even if your motor comes with color coded bearings the toga performance bearings will replace them directly.. How can this be.. Is the aftermarket bearing set already sized for the B2 block or what.. Here is the link to the site where I read this..

Check your bearing clearances and just use the stock Honda bearings. Never had a problem with the stock Honda bearings and most teams all use stock bearings.

I think I might just use the honda oem bearings.. I really dont care much about this motor im just building it to get the experence.. I looked on slhondaparts.com and it shows bearings on there for like $7.00.. Is that both sides of the bearing or what.. Meaning if it showed my rod bearings for $7.00 would I just need 4 of them, or 8 of them..

often times aftermarket bearing sets are within the factory specs, but not exactly optimal. so that means it may be on the tight or loose side of the clearances.
that is why they state that the bearing set will install right in without checking the clearances. normally cause they use just one color in the middle of the thickness range such as Green.

i personally also use OEM Honda bearings cause i can gauge the exact clearances, though they are normally the most expensive when compared to ACL or other aftermarket bearing sets. the $7 is per bearing, meaning that you will need 2 bearings per journal. one for the top and one for the bottom, for both the rods and crank. also, some are for top or bottom only when dealing with the crank, so make sure they are specified when ordering.

hope this helps.

I think then probably what im going to do is go with the aftermarket bearings and plastigauge everything to make sure its in spec.. If not ill buy just that one bearing.. I said eairler in the post that this motor is just for me to get the experence building and probably blow up at the track.. I really dont want to spend $7.00 for each bearing side when I can get the entire rod/main bearing set for $115.00.. When I build my type-r motor I will use oem bearings but not for the b2 motor.. Thanks for your help..
