Default What's the best CAT-BACK on a Type-R

Hello, I'm Kevin and i live in the Netherlands and own an '98 Honda Integra Type-R

I just bougth a 4-1 header with 2,5inch collector ( no name )

and im looking for a good cat-back systeem like the style of the invidia systems...

I think the catback should be also 2,5 inch like the collector of the header.

but the only problem of the invidia is that it's so fu*ing LOUD... the cops her don't like that and the will give me lot's a tickets if they hear the invidia...

so i'm looking for an alternative cat-back system... i've tried the search but i can't dind ou which system would be the best..

so if anyone please could help me out?

thanks, Kevin

here's a pic of my ITR:

Picture removed otherwise i get bandwith probs with server....

yeah i know, DON'T mention the altezza's the were already on it when i bought the car and i don't have the stock ones...

SORRY I CANT POST MORE THAN 5 POST A DAY, AND YES ITS A LHD WE DRIVE AT THE RIGHT SIDE IN THE NETHERLANDS....

Err. Then don't ask for the best catback available for the Hype R.

But no idea on what's a good, quiet budget catback. Sounds like you're going to need to get something custom fabbed up at a muffler shop.

For sound I prefer the Spoon N-1, with the T1R b-pipe....

Nice clear tails BTW

i can get the invidia for a nice price but i need something to silence the muffer in case there is a technical control by the cops ( they stop traffic here and pic car's out and they check everything, so if you have an too loudy exhaust, you get a ticket )

i saw something like a remote-throttle-valve wat opens and closes the flow inside the exhaust to silence it... does that work ?

then i can buy the invidia with the remote silencer valve
( sorry i dont; know the exact english name for it )

Had that setup. He'll be in the same boat as if he got the Invidia exhaust. Loud and harassed by cops.

The remote cutout isn't really for reducing exhaust noise. It'll dump outside bypassing the exhaust all together. Or are you trying to describe the "silencer" unit that comes with certain N1 exhausts?

"What's the best CAT-BACK on a Type-R"

There is no "best" in general
The best catback is the one that fit`s your car best. I use an Idol racing exhaust.. Top quality, stainless steel, gains some hp, sounds powerful but it`s not freaklin loud.. So imho, this is the "best" catback... for me and my car. Maybe you find another one and call it best

No i mean that round valve wat you put betweet the exhaust connection points and if you rotate the roubnd valve, the flow inside the exhaust will be less...

so if the valves almost closes, the flow will be reduced, so does the sound but you lose a few HP's when the valve is closed... but when the cops are away, you can remote open the valve, the flow will be increased and the noise too

I' dont have the stock ones but those are ugly, still looking for a nice set of black altezza's or something else... stock lights suck...

don't forget that the "fashion" in europe is different than in the states! in my country, altezza's rock!

but i know that the chrome altezza's aren't nice... but i don't have anything else... same thing about the rims... everything will change i the future

Says who? We're not trying to flame you for the lights, but seeing those lights on a Type R is like a dagger through the heart. Also, black altezza's are gay too. Keep em' stock

correct.. europe is still into that sort of stuff, in general..

Jeez... cut the guy some slack... he said he doesn't like em himself.... Not everywhere in the world is like the states... certain parts are hard and expensive to come by !

I saw more posts in the this tread on his tail lights that what he actually asked ! I'd bet if Altezza's weren't considered ricey... all you sheep would be rockin' them.

Nyther... the thing you are referring to that bypasses the exhaust is called an ' E- Cutout '. It is a 'Y' pipe that goes after the collector with a solenoid and remote switch that allow you to electronically switch from full exhaust to basically open header or any angle inbetween (half or 1/4 open, etc...) When it's full open, it's mega loud.

From my searching, the Apex-i World Sport seems to be a widely acclaimed 'quiet' exhaust that still gains some power.

** I noticed your car is LHD... What side of the road do you drive on ?

Not in my country... We R-drivers always liked the mild style... Understatement. Maybe our neighbours in Holland like that more.

Doesn't anyone read posts before responding anymore?

The guy asked for a quiet exhaust. How the heck is a RSR EX Mag GTII a quiet exhaust?
