Baby seat in S2000?
Seams like a crazy question, I know. I was wondering if anybody has done it. I have a kid, and wondered if anyone has done it? I asked one salesman at Honda, he said no way, I asked why, and he said you can't. Another saleman at another dealer said no problem. I know you can't use a rear facing seat, but why not forward facing?
I ask because if I get a S2k, and had to pick up my kid for some reason, I'd like to be able to do so.
Thanks for the input.

I read the owner's manual - front to back.
Honda does NOT recommend the use of a car seat with the S2000.
Plus, if you used a foward facing, you'd have to have the passenger's side air bag disabled if you care at all about your child.

Mine is 16 months, but he is a big kid............33 inches tall, 30 lbs, wears 2-3T! Anyways, I it sounds like I could have the passenger airbag disabled with a swith like in pickup trucks then. Thanks.
Read the owners manual. It goes in great detail about putting a child in the S2000. Even though Honda does not recommend it they still show you how to install the car seat. If you must, Honda recommends a booster seat to bring the child to the proper height so the shoulder belt crosses at the correct location.

It says it clearly oon both sides of the sun visors, never put a child seat in the front. If the passenger side airbags deploys with your child in the front seat he or she will be hurt if not killed. Please don't do it!!!If you been in a s2000 before then you already know how tight the space already is.For the love of your child don't do it.

Whats "wears 2-3T!" mean?
I don't think it would be a good idea anyways if the airbag was disable.. would you really put your child in danger?

even tho its possible, i dont think its as safe as a backseat would be for a todler (he/shes about todler size yes?) its a fun car and all, but just as a precaution i wouldnt wanna risk it especially if its not recommended. maybe you should get a beater? (just a suggestion... just so u can enjoy the car without worrying about the risk and still take ur kid out)
bottom line safety first by all means...

I don't "have" one but I have access to one at my house. I was referring to your post.
OMG DONT KILL YOUR CHILD DONT DO IT YOU WILL REGRET IT I SWEAR TO YOU.
You never gave him any information as to whether or not he could actually put a childseat into his car if he modified it, you just went off on some tangent about how his kid is as good as dead for even asking.

Safety is most important. I simply am asking if any S2k owners have done it, or know anything about it. I am by occupation a auto claims technician. I do car accidents in other words. The size of the S2k is it's only downfall. Airbags aside, it is 5 times safer than your average mini truck. The unibody on the car is very rigid, it has large lower frame rails in the front, and multiple collapse/crush zones. The occupant area stays very well intact, while front/rear collapses. Side impacts, even though the car is narrow, are absorbed well due to it's relatively deep doors with well designed door reinforcements.
Any small car vs large SUV for example is a poor situation to be in. This car for it's size is crashworthy.
My child is a less than 2 years old, so yes he would be in a child seat, forward facing.
I am only asking because of the occasion that I would have to pick up my child, say if the wife works late, and I can't drive across town in time to get my other car.
Thanks for the responses.
