Baked and painted my headlights CTR style today... (56k ok)
Been debating on doing it for a while and figured I would and if I didn't like them I was sure I could find someone to trade me for stockers again. But so far I like how it looks. Here is the thread I had going while doing it and trying to pick a color: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=752980
And here are the pics with some descriptions.
Couldn't decide on a color when at the store so bought both Duplicolor Wheel Graphite and Duplicolor Trim Gunmetal.

Mmmmm, nice flawless, virgin OEM headlights.

To the oven with the virgin!!!! I put them in at 225 degrees for a few minutes at a time cause I didn't want to melt them. End result was that 225 for about 5-6 minutes worked good.

Freshly opened. I found using a flathead and some patience worked. Its not how far or hard you could pry but keeping constant pressure on it. The glue is like gum and starts to give slowly.

Light coat of primer and 2 light coats of the Duplicolor Gunmetal trim paint. A bit too silver for my liking.

So I put a few coats of the Duplicolor Graphite Wheel Paint (WP102) over it and I like the results a lot better.

One thing I never really cared for was the amber reflector in the black housing. I wanted a clear reflector but couldn't find one so I did the old trick of blacking them out by painting the back of it and then taking some of it off with green pad. I know these are technically illegal now since I have super white corner bulbs but I don't think I'll get hassled.

The finished product put back together. I just reheated them and pushed them back together, then baked them for 2 minutes to get the glue to fill in. Then went around the joint with 100% silicone (I install shower doors for a living so sealing things up to hold water comes second nature).

On my way down to put them back in the car and one of the dogs wanted to show off her catch. Not sure where she caught it but she was proud. It was sunny all day so the dogs were having fun swimming in the pond all day.

On the car. Not good pics cause it was dark and starting to rain. Will get better pics some day and post them.

Couldn't think of a better way to spend a super bowl sunday with a super bowl that wasn't very super.

Didn't want them shiny like the CTR ones. If I did I would have cleared over them.
