Default Swapping seats from a civic

Hello all.

I'm going into my second season of autocross and I drive a 2000 Cx hatch. I was interested in swapping some Del Sol seats into my hatch for better support. I already read the class specifications, but I didn't get a clear answer. I wanted to know if taking OEM seats from one civic and putting them into another civic would pull me out of stock class, which is where I'd like to stay? Thanks in advance for the replys.

There are no update/backdates allowed in stock class.

o dang...

So, that means I'll be in a class where I won't be competitive. I guess I'll be racing against myself (and the clock of course). Any other repsonses?

What else are you looking for?

If you want to be competitive, then prep the car for the stock ruleset (or STS or SM or whatever it is you want to be competitive in). If you just want to have fun and dont care about classing, then do whatever you like. But seats arent going to make you faster...

Thanks (duh)...i realize seats won't make me faster , but I'd still like to have the seat support. I really just needed clarification on the rules, which you helped me with.

You can also use the lap belt portion of a harness to hold you down, and/or tool box or kitchen drawer lining material wrapped around the seat and taped.

I think I'll just get some duct tape and tape myself in before each run...

I wasn't trying to be a smarta**, I was just looking for some additional responses. Honda-tech is full of people who just post responses with no background info. I'm sure you've encountered this before.

Get a 4 or 5 point harness, big difference.

Cheapest way to hold yourself in...

Works fairly well for $15. I used one for a ride-along a few times, but went straight for a harness in my own car.

You don't have to remove the stock seat belt to use a harness.

Harnesses (and roll bars/cages as well) are legal in stock class.

You are allowed to add a harness but you are not allowed to remove the OE seatbelt assembly (or any part of it) (in stock class).

unless you're going to the nationals. I would just try it and see if you get protested. I don't think it's that big a deal and depeding on the color of your car and the seats most people won't even know.

just my $.02 though.
