Default gear set question

I recently wrecked my 91 integra, and I am buying a 98 ls. My question is, will the gear sets of my 91 tranny work in the 98? I don't want to hear "just buy a gsr tranny", because this would be a free mod for me. The 91 gears are a little bit shorter.

what model integra did you have? what's the tranny code? is the tranny case in good shape? did it break? since you had a 91 integra, i know your car wasn't a gsr! you probably had a s1 or ys1 tranny, which you can keep and use in the 98 car! to do so, you'll need a cable to hydro tranny kit from hasport, or place racing!

The tranny code for my 91 is an a1. I don't want buy some kit, I want to know if the gears would fit fine in the 98 tranny case. Yeah, I know it's a harder swap, but I would just rather do it that way. The motor and tranny from my 91 are completely untouched by the wreck.

the a1 uses smaller internals than a hydro tranny, as well as a smaller mainshaft. this makes the a1 internals, incompatible with the hydro trannies! if you had a ys1 tranny, then you would be able to switch everything into the hydro caseing!

Ahh nuts, but thank you! Maybe I'll check out hasport.
