Default 95 gsr vs 91 gst eclipse

i know you people hate these threads but... the other night i was out on a dead road and this 91 gst flys up on me and starts revving his **** up. i told him if we gona race lets race for some $ so he agrees and we start from a roll about 20mph he launched on me hard and beat me by like 3-4 cars, then we raced for another 20$ from a stop and he still beat me by like 2 cars. his car was 100% stock and all i have is comptech header and egay cai. i really feel like i shoulda beat him.

my question is should a stock gsr beat a stock 91 eclipse gst?

please dont flame me for this thread i looked all over for the 1/4th time of the gst and i cant find it anywhere. i know a gsr runs form 15.0-15.5 at sea level stock.

I think this thread belongs in the "Kill Stories." And I do believe everything is correct with him beating you by that kind of margin. I don't know quarter mile times exactly, but I remember seeing something about high 14's.

well i know the first gen eclipses are supposed to run pretty good with the turbo setup, real high 14s is definelty possible with a good driver in a GST and for sure with the GSX...as far as the defeat goes, it sounds like u were lucky if u ask me, if he can launch good with that thing u r lucky he didnt pull more outta the hole, so good driving it sounds on yur behalf. im sure no doubt the best gear for u to race him would be 3rd, if i remember the GST and GSXs kinda fall down a little in the higher gears, where as that seems to be our best.
FYI, i raced a 2nd GEN GST and lost from a 10mph roll thru 3rd by about 2 cars, and i had IHE and he had just intake and BOV...then a roll thru third i pulled maybe a foot. sorry this is so long

Just because DSM's are shitty cars doesnt mean they're slow. Yea, they may break into pieces after the race, but for instance I know that the 95+ GS-T's are pushing 210 ponies off the assembly line. Pretty ****** good if you ask me. Race sounds fair, but who knows; he might not have been stock. People only know what you tell them...

honestly if ur gst opponent is a good drive he should have beeten u. expecally from a rolling start. dsm's are good for being fast for cheep, just without the reliabilty. ive got my tsi going for the englishtown hs comp in 05' shootin for a even 11.
