dont even bother do it right.. f22 tranny has waay to long of a gear ratio, might as well not even do a swap ur not gonna get the most out of ur h22a if u keep the f22 tranny trust!!. just get a h22 or h23

i have an h22 with f22 tranny...gears are pretty long...for instance the 2-3 shift is at 73 mph right at redline...i suppose it's not too bad, but if i could do it all over again i would have never gotten the h22 to begin with...

it's tourqueless, takes revs to make go fast, and is honestly a pain in the ***...no, it's not because i don't have the h22 tranny that i'm saying this either...also, for the same amount of money, i would have rather turbocharged the f22 instead...

alright... so this may be a stretch for me seeing as how im only 16, but i can get parts for cheap through friends... if i wanted to go turbo with the h22... do you think that the f22 tranny would be alright? i heard that longer gears is better for turbo.. is that true?

Aight first off i would not keep the f22 tranny on a turbo'd h22. I also would not turbo a h22. I would look for a h23 to turbo. I dont like to have a v-tec motor with a turbo...i guess it is just my thing.

then i guess you had never driven an h22 tranny on an h22

i had an f22 tranny on an h22 in a 94 accord coupe, it made the car much more fun to drive than an f22 powered accord, but an h22 tranny is a MUST

it is not better for a turbo application, thats an internet myth and misinformation

The only reason he could possibly say is he wants less acceleration and better gas mileage.

You cant be concerned with gas mileage in an aftermarket turbocharged car

The H22A is ment to have the H22 (five speed of corse ) tranny bolted to it.
If you take the F22 tranny to the H22 redline and shift to the nest gear the RPMs will drop to below VTEC (and out of the engines power band). with the H22's shorter gears if you shift at the redline it will keep the engine above 5k rpms (which is above VTEC). Just as what has already been stated you'll accelerate a good bit faster with the H22 tranny.

too long of gears is no good either.

i dont have much experience w/ H22.....but when u have shorter gears, highway crusing sucks.....my dads 00 sentra w/ sr20 and a short *** stock gear ratios is at like 4xxx rpm at 80mph in 5th gear....not the best situation IMO

just a little word of wisdom....but ud the H22 tranny would be able to take better advantage of the increased power gain

IT IS TRUE THE LONGER THE GEAR THE BIGGER THE BOOST RATHER THAN A FASTER GEAR RATIO TRANS WHERE YOU GAIN SPEED FAST BUT IN THE LONG RUN THE F-TRANNY WILL PASS YOU UP DEPENDING ON THE DRIVER ASWELL

the difference in the H22 is designed to be run at 4k rpm at 80mph and it still gets good mpg. hell i have gotten 32 mpg on a 4 hr ride going between 80-90mph with a few bursts to 100. the 5th gear acceleration is nice too, with a F22 tranny you'd have to drop a gear to go accelerate from 80mph.

a turbo isn't on boost all the time, turbo lag??? you need a V6 if you want constant power through the whole rpm band. i do agree though waiting till 4,800 rpm for some zoom gets old, but pulling to 7,400 doesn't.

please take your caps lock button off..thanx

How big your boost is depends on your wastegate spring and setup not tranny.
