Default handle for passangers

were thinking of building a handle for students/passangers to hold on to in the track car since the pass seat and belt are still stock. any ideas where to put one, what to make it out of, ect?

Be nice to them and give them something upgraded to hold them in. I'd say at least a bucket, or a lower end harness. Like a sparco sprint or something, low 200s and passengers will actually feel why the car is doing stuff, instead of trying to stay inside the car

I plan on coughing up the extra money to give my passengers/instructors the ability to share the drive experience and be able to relate to what I'm doing.

the drivers seat is upgraded, but not a race seat. just a better OE seat. the car has been gutted for a custom cage that should be going in in the next couple months. i was thinkin we could put the stock O.S. handle back, but once the cage goes in, that won't be an accussable area.

is it against rules to attach like a rope or something like that to the roll bar to act like a handle..? i just hope they dont mistake the e-brake for a handle..

So your're wanting something for them to hold onto once the car is track ready again? Meaning a full cage put in? I'd guess you are planning this as something to hang onto before the cage goes in and harnesses are used.

well i currently have a bucket driver seat. i want to get a reclinable seat for the pass. because all instructors vary in size, and hopefully a harness in the pass. side too.

well, i just finished making sheetmetal door panels up for the car. but there isnt much to realy hold on to to hold yourself up.

once the car gets caged, the drivers side will be getting an evo 3 and the passanger side will stay stock (probably) and get a harness. but for now..............

when I rode as a passenger in my car all my O/S handle was good for was banging my helmet against in every turn

I just held on to the seat to steady myself.

They will NEED a harness. No question about it. Passenger must have the same safety gear as driver (and should have the newer set).

Once they are harnessed, they can just grab the belt, or jam their hands under their bum, or grab the side of the seat. I'm not a fan of "oh ****" handles - I'd rather keep my arms down in case of an incident (less chance of arm going out window).
