Default Toda exhaust manifold...

I installed it Friday night. Sorry don't have any pics of the install. I was time constrained. Got to the garage at 6:45, and it closed at 8. Started at 6:58 and finished at 7:55. I wanted to take pics, but just didn't have the chance really. All I have to say about it--IF YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON ONE, GO GET IT! The sound combined with the Amuse Ti exhaust is mind-blowing outside the car. It is not hardly as bad as I thought it was going to be inside the car. In fact inside it sounds a bit quieter. Outside though, my friends kept telling me to fly by them, as the sound was just incredible. It has this crazy hissing sound, and it is not an exhaust leak, because I checked on that. The car just pulls hard everywhere in the rev-range, definite definite power gain. There is like one dyno, maybe two here on Okinawa, I may see if I can get it on there sometime. I wouldn't be surprised if I am easily over 200 to the wheels. I think stock DC5R's are getting anywhere from 185-190 to the wheels. With the Amuse and Toda pieces, 200 should be easily attainable. Now I want my GruppeM intake to hurry up and arrive, damn backorder . Even if the power increase isn't so great, I have lost about 38lbs with the 2 pieces.

I will try to take some pics, but really everyone knows what the manifold looks like, and mine is wrapped in black thermo wrap. Just wanted to share in my joy. One thing I will try and get is some sound clips. Because my telling it, doesn't do it justice.

Also on a side note, I haven't had a check engine light yet, have drove it about 350km (217miles) so far.

Another side note, Saturday night, first time ever driving a stick I misshifted from 3rd, put it in second, and got a screaming car! Quickly pressed in the clutch and put it into neutral. Came to the stop, checked my A'pexi meter's top RPM, it registered a 0905, so 10905rpms!!! Car doesn't show any signs of problems. It revs normally at 8850rpms on the stock ECU.

Engine over speed condition isn't it....I wonder if the "R" models have the upgraded valve springs like the USDM "S" does to handle the over-rev of the engine.

oh BTW

You lucky BASTARD.....lol..........hope you enjoy the fruits of your labor

The 2003 models do have the single valve spring upgrade. I was a little worried, but the car seems perfectly fine. Most definitely I will enjoy it.

Well my Integra is happy! I got the manifold for 85900yen or about $828. They retail in Japan for 98000 or about $950. I'm not sure why the Toda stateside price is $200 more, it really doesn't make sense, and then you need the swaybar so another $150 or so on top of that.

Sounds great, I wonder what the gains would be on an S. Luckily I don't have to smog over here so getting the mani could be a possibility. BTW, you are extremely lucky with your misshift, I wasn't so lucky and that's why I'm not currently driving my S, though I should have it back at the end of the week. It would definately be a shame to blow the R though. Have fun, just don't screw up too badly

Thanks, and believe me I know! I couldn't believe I did it. I guess there really is a first time for everything. I quickly knew what it was, it seemed like an eternity though, hearing it scream, I really did push in the clutch right away and put it into neutral. Revved it up to 8500 right after to see if any crazy noises or anything, and nothing. So yes I was very lucky! Honda here knows how I drive the car, so I doubt warranty would cover, though I could be mistaken.

I guess if you have a USDM "S" you need the sway bar also, should be @ 1,295.00
but they include the sway bar

Yup, you are correct! The N2 cams are designed by the TODA U.S. side, but still made by TODA Japan. It's only sold by TODA U.S.
