Default nitride coating in the NE

ok i think this would be the right forum for this quetions....

1. is it worth is to have the skirts of the pistons coated
2. if it is, where can i get it done in the NE. (ive searched and only found places in cali and texas.)

What do you plan on doing with your motor that would necessitate nitride coating? The majority of successful racers using Honda engines aren't nitride treating their internals so I think you can get along fine without it.

I think swain is one of the BIG names in this business, if I am not mistaken.

Regime, if you buy CTR or ITR pistons, they are factory nitride coated. And besides the point, pistons are so small, they are cheap to ship...

I got my crank nitrided for really cheap. I'll ask the guy who built my engine where he sent it (its pretty close to here, could've been Swain).

yeah im pretty sure ill be talking to swain when i get to building my engine... (this summer i hope).
i knew that the ctr and itr were coated phiz, but i wanna drop my compresstion down.

so that pretty much takes care of my second ?
how about the first. is it worth is. is it noticable, i was also thinking about having the top of the pistons ceramic coated, has neone esle done this. is it just a waste of 40 bux a piston? or what it be recomended on a boosted engine? let me know thanks guys
