Street Prepared cruise control delete
All this talk of steering wheels makes me want to buy one. So since my cruise controls are on the wheel, I might as well ditch it to save some underhood space and weight since I rarely use it anyway.
The 96-00 SOHC/DOHC VTEC Civics are all on the same DSP line. I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure the HX didn't have cruise, so if nothing else I could ditch it via update/backdate IF cruise is not considered part of the engine.
Is ditching Cruise Control outright legal in SP? I can't find anything in the rules that says yes so I'm thinking I'd have to use the update/backdate angle.

you'll definetly get a faster and more accurate response over on http://www.sccaforums.com as more than one SEB member frequent the boards over there.

Are you sure the 96-00 Civic Ex Coupe (only car with sohc vtec if I remember correctly) didn't come with cruise? If all of them came standard that way, then you can't delete it.
If it was an option, then you can delete away.
The other 96-00 Civics all are listed differently or in a different class, so you can't use those as an update/backdate.
This is assuming all 96-00 vtec Civics are on the same line, which I can't recall right now.

The HX was also SOHC VTEC, and did not have Cruise to the best of my knowledge.
The EX did have Cruise.
They are all on the same line as of 03. If they changed it I haven't seen the change in the 04 rules yet.
The funny thing is, the Si is actually under two lines in SP.
Civic Si DOHC VTEC ('99-'00)
Civic VTEC, SOHC and DOHC ('96+)
Both apply. Is there a rule that says whatever line applies most accurately to my car must be the line the update/backdates are legal between?
Furthermore, couldn't somebody drop a D17 in their 96 HX legally under the current rules? Not that it would be faster, but it's weird.

Maybe not, but the underhood space might be worth it for mounting my HID washer nozzle ballasts or whatever. Just curious since this is a question I couldn't clear up looking at the rules, and I'm usually able to understand exactly what's legal and what's not. This is a weird situation with the two SP listings and comfort/convenience clause and what-have-you going on.
